Danilo Ambrosino L’Oro di Napoli at Mazarine Variations from March 14-May 18th

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Danilo Ambrosino, born in Naples in 1964, resides and works in Naples, Italy, focusing on large format painting. Using acrylic enamels on materials like dibond and aluminum, he incorporates gold leaf and objects, portraying Mediterranean flora like palms, cacti, and bamboo.

Ambrosino’s art captures the essence of the Mediterranean, blending Byzantine, Arab, Neapolitan Still Life, and contemporary Pop influences. His work narrates an enchanted garden, celebrating the beauty of plants and their enduring journey through time and space.

His exhibition, “L’Oro di Napoli,” curated by Alessandra Pacelli, showcases medium and large-sized works featuring Mediterranean flora. The paintings, created by fusing enamels on a gold leaf background, were recently exhibited at prominent venues, including the National Archaeological Museum of Naples, the Botanical Gardens of Naples and Palermo, and the Cerio Foundation of Capri.

Galerie Mazarien Variations was founded in 1988 as PIECE UNIQUE, its original concept was to exhibit each time a single work of art created especially for the space by a contemporary artist.

In February 2000, the gallery expanded to a new space at 26, rue Mazarine in order to permanently display the works of the artists represented and to organize special events throughout the year.

Since February 2020, Marussa Gravagnuolo and Christine Lahoud have concentrated their activities at 26, rue Mazarine in the space now called “MAZARINE VARIATIONS”.

Opening hours: Tuesday-Saturday: 2h30 pm 7h00 pm
