Decoding Elegance: FENDI’s Autumn/Winter 2024-25 Collection Unveils a Fusion of British Subcultures and Roman Luxury

In the exploration of FENDI WOMENSWEAR AUTUMN/WINTER 2024-25, Artistic Director Kim Jones draws inspiration from the 1984 FENDI archives, evoking the dynamic styles of London’s Blitz Kids and New Romantics. This collection seamlessly blends British subcultures with Roman elegance, reflecting a fusion of utility and luxury.

Jones delves into a juxtaposition of utilitarian and extravagant, simple and theatrical, creating a harmonious blend where tradition meets subversion. The collection embodies an effortless fusion of London nonchalance and Roman freedom, making a bold statement about doing rather than just being.

Tailoring takes center stage, marrying feminine sensibility with sinuous lines and rounded silhouettes. Wool coats casually tied and belted, knitwear in silk ribs or traditional British styles like Aran and Guernsey, and utilitarian dresses with ‘tailored flou’ sensibility – each piece exudes practicality and elegance. Shearlings and leathers showcase FENDI’s artisanal prowess, employing innovative techniques for supple protection and comfort.

The collection also pays homage to FENDI’s past, with recurring codes and motifs, particularly the Selleria. As the brand approaches its centenary in 2025, Selleria emerges in leather riding boots, Chupa Chups® lollipop holder, and jewelry designs by Delfina Delettrez Fendi, highlighting metal thread hardware and leather-metallized chains.

Silvia Venturini Fendi’s bag designs deconstruct past styles, emphasizing tactility and utility. Peekaboo, Baguette, By The Way, and the new Simply FENDI showcase sumptuous leathers in natural hues. The collection affirms the diversity of FENDI women, encouraging self-expression through their choices in what they wear.
