RITMO 22 Unveiled: Paolo Di Landro’s Singular Exploration of Circadian Rhythms in Fashion curated by Alessio de’Navasques Photo’s by Alessandra Trucillo courtesy of AlbumArte Roma

Dear Shaded Viewers,

AlbumArte, Center for Independent Artistic Production, has unveiled RITMO 22, a unique installation by fashion designer Paolo Di Landro at its Rome headquarters. Curated by Alessio de’Navasques the exhibition will be open for exploration until February 16, 2024.

Di Landro’s project is a captivating journey, born from a relentless spirit of experimental exploration. At its core, it delves into the circadian rhythm that governs our sleep and wakefulness, contemplating the pervasive efforts of capitalist society and power to standardize minds, needs, personalities, and consciences.

In RITMO 22, Di Landro presents a series of sheath dresses that may appear deceptively uniform at first glance. Yet, they subtly differ in their essence — a reflection of the exploration of fabric and its varying weights. This analysis seeks to revive the inherent strength derived from the material itself. The dresses, seemingly identical, become conduits for Di Landro’s transformative process, contributing to a visual, material, and social abstraction that transcends mere representation.
