There Is No Such Thing As Bad Weather, Only Bad Clothes. Rains Autumn/Winter 24

Here at Rains we have reached the epitome of gorpcore, the paragon of oxy-moron. Ripstop, gore-tex, moisture-wicking nylon, thermal insulated fleece blend technology! I’m not sure any group of people have ever been so prepared to face the elements and absolutely not planning on it. I think this glistening wet-alien makeup look might just be sweat.

As much artistry as is found in traditional draping is applied to the structure and form of their oversized, otherworldly down quilting which gives the collection an effectively regal quality- cinematic really. Black latex layering makes for a fun textural pop of what I guess happens when polar researchers want to spice things up! Drawstring cords galore. Like, arctic shibari.

Fun and games aside, the collection was striking. Thank you for the miniature bottle of branded water served on a silver tray by the most handsome man in a lab-coat I have ever seen and also for the courage to face the rest of the day, Rains! Feeling inspired, I went across the street and bought a Uniqlo Heat-tech turtleneck for 9.99. Not quite having the same effect.

Xxx,
