Dear Shaded Viewers,
Alessandro Vigilante Appointed as Rochas’ New Creative Director for Ready-to-Wear
In a groundbreaking move set to define the next chapter for Maison Rochas, Italian design virtuoso Alessandro Vigilante steps into the role of Creative Director for Ready-to-Wear. Renowned for his tenure at Dolce & Gabbana, Gucci, and collaborations with Alessandro Michele, as well as his significant contributions to labels like Philosophy by Lorenzo Serafini and The Attico, Vigilante’s ascent signals an exciting new era for the cherished French luxury house.
With Rochas’ complete management now under Interparfums, including marketing, communications, and licensing activities, the appointment of Vigilante represents a pivotal stride in the brand’s ongoing transformation.
Philippe Bénaçin, CEO of Interparfums, lauds the appointment, stating, “I am delighted to welcome Alessandro as Creative Director of Ready-To-Wear. His work embodies elegance, modern femininity, and an unwavering exploration of women’s body expression. He’s set to script a new narrative for this House rooted in audacity, femininity, and sophistication.”
Vigilante’s journey to the forefront of fashion began in the realm of contemporary dance before transitioning to the world’s most prestigious fashion houses. His debut collection in 2021 marked a defining moment in his career, stemming from a rich education at Milan’s revered IED Moda Lab, coupled with a mastery of tailoring and craftsmanship. His creative ethos draws from an eclectic tapestry of art, film, photography, and dance.
Expressing gratitude for the opportunity, Alessandro Vigilante remarked, “I am honored to join Maison Rochas and build upon its rich heritage. Rochas epitomizes French sophistication and celebrates Womanhood in ways that deeply resonate with me. I am eager to share my vision.”
Anticipation mounts as Vigilante prepares to unveil his inaugural collection during Paris Fashion Week’s Fall 2024 season in February. Promising a fusion of modernity with Rochas’ timeless elegance, Vigilante is poised to redefine the brand, infusing it with his signature charisma while honoring the house’s legacy dating back to its inception by Marcel Rochas in 1925.
