Lovers turned creative partners, the French-Russian duo, Victoria/Tomas have been appreciated for their collection of ready to wear separates for gals and guys that blur the lines between menswear and womenswear, applying poetic attention to detail. Workwear and straight tailoring are reinterpreted into flowing feminine silhouettes with unexpected cut-outs and hardware. Butt grazing miniskirts, cropped jackets, and breast-bearing chemises are constructed from utilitarian fabrics and adorned with rhinestone trim, chainmail, and snake motifs. Grommets in the shape of hearts are branded on the back of snakeskin print leather jackets and totes.
By reappropriating classic menswear silhouettes and practical functional details, the Victoria/Tomas girls and boys exude a peculiar cool- riding the wave between utilitarian and sexy. Working hard or hardly working? Who cares, they look great.
