Paris Nuit Blanche- It’s Tonight and Not To Miss!

What a pleasure and delight it was to preview tonight’s Nuit Blanche before the crowds come out to revel in the vibrant joy this creative night will bring. This year’s Nuit Blanche is an hommage to the Seine, and will foreshadow the excitement of the 2024 summer olympics to come.  Tonight, Paris and its 24 adjacent contributing cities invite all to join in artistic festivities, to participate in large-scale immersive installations, and to experience art all night long.

Some not to miss installations that ASVOF has had the pleasure of previewing will include; Ludmila Rodrigues and Mike Rijnierse’s Sunrise Paris, a glowing red orb floating near,  L’île Saint Louis. ASVOF’s personal favorite- the dizzyingly elegant dancer, Rena Gorgani will perform a traditional Sufi dance on the banks of the Seine. Rita d’Albert’s Lucha Vavoom, a choreographed lucha libre performance will take place on the quai de Seine as well- a very fun and lively performance all the way from sunny L.A.

Maïder Fortuné’s Licorne, an entrancing and enchanting video installation which will be projected along the Quai de Seine alongside Opera River, Kitty Hartel’s floating Gondola which will play operatic scores all night long. All this and more to be discovered along and around Paris’s lifeline, La Seine.

Inspired by her many travels and vibrant lust for life, this year’s creative director, Kitty Hartel, has organized La Rumba at Hôtel de Ville, a sort of cultural street-party/circus full of wonderfully fun and fantastical performances which will begin at 7pm at Hôtel de Ville! More than 2,000 colorful costumes inspired by sustainable design and origami will be handed out to children ages 6-10 to revel in the celebration alongside giant colorful dancing yetis, Chinese acrobats, and an exciting lineup of musical performances.

This year’s Nuit Blanche sounds like less of a “white” night and more akin to an explosion of color and excitement.  This year is absolutely not one to miss! Get out there tonight and enjoy all that the wonderfully talented creatives of Paris have to offer!
