The re-enchantment of ethical fashion at Germanier AW 23-24

Conceptualizing a new world: utopia or reality? – This season, Kevin Germanier transcends the concept of beauty and upcycling, presenting a world of reimagined possibilities. When you could barely assemble your macaroni neckless in kindergarten, the “Master of pearls” turns recycled materials into couture attire.

The Swiss designer envisioned a theatrical show at Christie’s filled with pearls, strass, beads, opulent feathers, and crystals. Joy is resolutely at the core of the collection. My type of fairytale – a new ecosystem where boundaries are rechallenged, and you can pull up casually at the office with your exuberant crystal-embellished lacing tuxedo.

A profusion of vibrant colors and eclectic looks are on display. Germanier’s motto remains immaculate: an assemblage of sculptural silhouettes, meticulous and festive garments – reinterpreting the art of upcycling. Beads, more beads, the label exults its new “G” logo rendered in pearls, customizing this season’s shoes and accessories. Everything please. Yet alert, my eyes are lured away by the masterpiece : a vibrant glittered gown pimped with oversized beads – perfect for my next date.

The show clotures with symbolism. A reality check, as the shadow of our protagonists tread down the hallway – reminiscing that there is no limit to shine.
