Mountains of clothing waste in Kenya inspired today’s couture collection by Yuima Nakazato. The collection, although inspired by his African adventure felt like a mix of global references from Japan, India and of course Africa. It was a departure from last season with draping, wrapping and transparent textiles. The presentation was sublime, mysterious and 100% Yuima Nakazato. I am happy to say I’ve been following his collections from his graduation days till now and am always impressed by his singular view on fashion, the world and the future.
