The Glennda Orgasm Diaries in One Grand Journal featuring Thurston Moore, Debbie Harry, Alexis Arquette, Vaginal Davis & Bruce LaBruce

Dear Diane, Dear Shaded Viewers,

Select entries from Glennda Orgasm’s diaries—aka Glenn Belverio’s memoirs from the 1990s—have been published in Grand, The Journal of One Grand Books. Described as “ultra-amusing” by Camille Paglia, the diary selections feature such stories as the time Debbie Harry and Michael Schmidt took Glenn to John Waters’ 50th birthday party, an encounter between Thurston Moore of Sonic Youth and Vaginal Davis in Glenn’s East Village bedroom, and a drag queen battle between Glennda and Alexis Arquette at Club Plastic in Milan.

The Glennda Orgasm Diaries can be read here.

Alexis began taunting me from the stage: “Where is that queen from New York?! I can’t even remember her name – Glennda WHOREGASM?!” And then, as if I were pulling a Samantha Stevens, when Alexis was pacing back and forth across the stage he SLIPPED on the spilled gin and tonic and FELL on his ass!

Thurston crouched down on the floor and began poring over the photos, exclaiming “I can’t believe I’m in Glennda Orgasm’s apartment!” I was dying inside, thinking “I can’t believe Thurston Moore is in my bedroom!” but I remained cool and acted like it was no big deal.
