Crisp and exaggerated at Hed Mayner PFW SS23 – text by Leticia Dare

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Fresh embroidered cottons that were crisp and starched floated down the runway, placed with oversized cuts and modern takes on classic suiting and shirts. The concept of what Hed called ‘two-dimensional shapes’. This idea was through slicing the backs out of jackets and coats to create new silhouettes. It felt light and almost refreshing considering the heat on such a hot summer’s day in Paris. Oversized was the key message with arm and leg lengths exaggerated and bellowing. The double denim look was a stand out and allowed the body to get lost in the fabric with such easy and proportion. Each look considered, controlled yet undone.

Later,
