GCDS X WOLFORD CAMPAIGN STARS SITA ABELLAN, RED, SYLKE GOLDING & HIRSCHY GRACE photos by: Nadia Lee Cohen

GCDS x Wolford is Wolford’ s first athleisure collection in collaboration with the seductive GCDS brand shot through the lens of Nadia Lee Cohen. I cannot think of a better threesome.

The designer Giuliano Calza is inspired by a streetwear world that is playful and ironic, using graphic patterns, futuristic details and inlays that reveal the body in new ways, whilst elaborating fabric combinations, visual effects and different textures. Three main themes distinguish the thirteen models of this athleisure capsule collection: first, a techno-animalier design with the stripes alternating transparencies, second, a GCDS all-over logo pattern in shimmering black or in shades of powder pink and white, and third, another graphic pattern, laser effect plays on camouflage in acid green and black that references the raver aesthetic.

The animalier design is present on short sports socks, leggings, half-sleeved bodysuits or one-piece suits in sheer opaque. The all-over logo is available on short socks, leggings, long-sleeved bodysuits, sleeveless crop tops and a full slip and top. The rave camo pattern instead characterizes a men’s bodysuit with long-sleeved top and leggings with added sports shorts.

Silvia Azzali, CCO of Wolford: “Thanks to our designer collaborations, at Wolford we are happy to fast-track the process of encountering the needs of women (and now men) of our younger generations. We research continuously and this also involves the exploration of trends and aesthetics relevant to a contemporary fashion future”.

Giuliano Calza, Creative Director of GCDS: “Performance was the keyword from which my Wolford project began. The idea of launching an activewear line with a giant of the sector motivated me enormously. There are more surprises on the way and I think this collaboration results a perfect fit for both parties”.

“The GCDS x Wolford collection feels like glamorous Jane Fonda-esque workout wear. We found an empty house set on a hidden hill directly behind the Chateau Marmont, the interior was beautiful, each room a different theme and the carefully selected decor gave a ‘Grey Gardens’ feeling of a glamorous-life-once-lead. I wanted to immortalise this house and bring back the type of woman I felt may have once walked the cream carpets, and that is who you see in these photos” says Nadia Lee Cohen.
