The Balenciaga Fall 22 presentation is a message from the past and a collection that could have been but never was. The Lost Tape is directed by Harmony Korine and it takes us back to a time when the air was charged with creative ideas and a raw creative energy was abundant.
Demna brings back that long forgotten energy and reimagines Balenciaga icons but with a strong vision for the future and a firm understanding of the past. A bell-shaped parka has a detachable travel pillow at the neck, you pull up the hood, put your head back and you are ready to go. Classics evolve while new silhouettes are stretched to their limits. His ever present track suit defines a new elegance. A floor length puffer jacket has an unexpected bow that detaches and becomes a long scarf.
