Comme des Garcons x Nike Air Foamposite One launch November 5th photos by Anthony Geathers

The latest sneaker collaboration is with Comme des Garcons, Nike, the Air Foamposite One which debuted in Tokyo in January during the CdG Homme Plus show themed ‘Darkroom’.

It was a journey through darkness that heightened the senses of Rei Kawakubo and led to the update of one of Nike’s most classic silhouettes. The Air Foamposite One debuted in 1997 but this is the first time that the exterior shell has been customized to feature a unique three-dimensional ripple pattern that covers the shoes forefoot and midfoot. The embossed design is a new element by Comme des Garcons Homme Plus, the brand’s label is also embossed on the sneaker’s heel and it is a pretty wild looking sneaker.

Photographs are by Brooklyn-based photographer Anthony Geathers taking the Air Foamposite to the streets and community courts of New York City. The intimate portraiture has captured the likes of John Lewis and Cory Booker but also lesser known men and women and children. His work is an ode to ‘everyday people’.

The sneaker comes in black and white, and is available in US men’s sizes 5-13 and US women’s 6.5-14.5. The launch on Friday, November 5th is exclusive at all Comme des Garcons and Dover Street Market stores globally as well as DSM E-SHOPs, shortly thereafter they will be available by all Comme des Garcon’s best wholesale clients.
