A call for support for HOME immagini from Bruna Ginammi

In February 2019 accompanying a friend who needed help with documents I had the opportunity to enter the camp in Rosarno where he had fled because of a fire. At the entrance of the camp there was surveillance, inside the African people were not happy to see their social status photographed. I carefully photographed the houses built by the African fruit pickers in Rosarno, Reggio Calabria.

They were in a camp provided by their employers, without any form of assistance, shelter or services.

The concept that ran through my work tells how African architecture finds in its own tradition a great ability to adapt, especially in adverse environmental conditions, while maintaining originality, creativity and above all great dignity. The guiding thought is the concept of balance which, far from aesthetic logic, is in harmony with an intimate coherent order, a harmonious unity of the parts which, it seems to me, is the best response to an evidently inhuman condition in which it exists.

With my work I have focused my attention on forms, fragile equals, which in repetition have built a strong sturrura.

What interests me is to show the dignity of the human being that prevails even in adverse circumstances.

HOME will have 90 colour pages tabloid format H42xb28cm
