PHIPPS – Autumn Winter 2021 Men’s – PFW – Text by Ivo Barraza Castaneda.

We’re on a boat, we’re in ice water. It’s giving USSR, it’s giving Scandinavia. PHIPPS does what – quite frankly – everybody should be doing at this moment: delivering us a film, a concept, a movie. I would do everything to forget Kristen Stewart sitting in that castle, I am glad to forever remember Gucci’s mini-series.
Back in our arctic thriller we encounter the expected: big warm collars, cozy sweaters, a grey beanie. If a Woodkid song could be translated into an outfit, it would be this. The only time we really see color is a Juicy Couture-esque tracksuit in the beginning, which is perfect. All of it is, in fact, perfect. The collection blends perfectly with the theme of the movie and in the end I am thankful that PHIPPS gave us more than a televised catwalk: a concept.
