A visit with Ludovic de Saint Sernin at his pop up showroom at Gallery Joyce in Palais Royal by Marco de Rivera

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I’ve followed Ludovic de Saint Sernin since his first collection. I remember a fun event at Lafayette Anticipation one summer a few years ago. I think there was a model walking around in his signature leather fetish underwear. His genderless collection includes beautifully cut coats, fluid shirts, sexy jock straps and underwear as well as a line of accessories including bags, necklaces and various collaborations with Swarovski one specific underwear show piece for a performance.

The majority of the clothes and accessories are made in France and sustainable practices are always closely followed, consciously shortening the supply chain and maintaining a close relationship with all ateliers. Ludovic de SaintSernin has an ongoing collaboration with Swarovski, following a desire to work with makers who are best in their field. In June 2018 Ludovic de Saint Sernin was awarded the prestigious ANDAM Creative Label Prize.

Born out of a mutual admiration for each other’s work, the collection campaigns have been photographed by Willy Vanderperre since the AW19 collection.

In June 2020 Ludovic de Saint Sernin introduced swimwear based on his signature eyelet brief. 10% of the profit of swimwear sales will go to support Le Refuge. This organisation supports young LGBTQIA+ people rejected by their parents and driven from the family home because they are homosexual, trans and or questioning their identity.
