Dear Shaded Viewers,
I’ve been following the work of Parisian designer Alexandre Blanc for several seasons now. Alexandre Blanc grew up in the Southwest of France near Toulouse and initially studied painting before he decided to train as a stylist. His experience prior to launching his own brand included stints at Yves Saint Laurent in 2007, Balenciaga and in 2009 he joined Guillaume Henry with the rebirth of Carven. In 2012 he went freelance and collaborated with houses including Jil Sander and Oscar de la Renta. In the fall of 2018 he launched his own brand, Alexandre Blanc. Going back to his painterly origins he designs all of his own prints. Before it became a trend to not be into trends…he preferred timeless creations thinking about designing like painting a portrait of the woman that he imagined wearing his designs.
Like all of us, COVID-19 has not made life easy in 2020. Starting this season the entire collection is developed and constructed in Paris. The capsule collection consists of 13 pieces and was shot in an art school, “la grande Chaumière”, in Paris by Laura-Marie Cieplik, working with the art director Delphine Danhier.
