Dear Shaded Viewers,
I’ve been following the artist/designer Aitor Throup for decades. Today, Friday 20th November, he launches his latest project a collectable, gender-neutral ‘wearable art’ concept based on his daily sketch meditation practice. TheDSA is a limited edition of collectables of gender-neutral, ready-to-wear range of minimal designs intended to be worn by everybody.
Aitor THroup’s The Daily Sketchbook Archives started over 8 1/2 years ago as a ‘daily meditation therapy’. Throup is a British-Argentinian designer with a rigorous drawing practice with instinctive visual thoughts with no specific purpose.
Each series of The DSA will feature a curated selection of artworks from Throup’s daily archives and is a limited edition making every piece a collector’s item. The practice of sketching without an objective stimulates the right half of his brain, counteracting the typically left-brain approach to this conceptual and methodical practice.
TheDSA will be available at the following stores:
Europe: END, Asia: ANCHORET, BOON THE SHOP, CASESTUDY, NUBIAN, RESTIR and ZOVIN
North America: ATELIER NEW YORK, H. LORENZO, SSENSE
