Backstage with Sonny Vandevelde at Dior

Dear Shaded Viewers,

“This show is dedicated to the memory of Judy Blame, a close friend and pioneer in the world of fashion, whose love of couture was an inspiration to us all.” Kim Jones.

From the minute I saw the program written DIOR with a safety pin through the O the emotion welled up inside of me and then the show starts with the emotional beautiful heaven and hell clouds of smoke in white, red and blue all done with such love. A beautiful tribute to an amazing man.

I wish I had a photo of that outstandingly beautiful  coat at the end of the show, it was breathtaking.  The  outerwear was exceptional, accessories from the shoes to the bags to the Stephen Jones hats and the re-interpretation of Judy Blame’s jewellery by Yoon Ahn, a fluid line of perfection. Bravo Kim for the past, present couture complete with beaded embroideries and the Toile de Jouy reference to Christian Dior’s first boutique. If Judy is up there I’m sure his heart was overflowing with the tenderness and emotion that ran through every aspect of the presentation.

Later,

Diane
