Dear Shaded Viewers,
The artist Julien Sitruk was born in 1999 and lives and works in Paris. His father, William Sitruk pictured below with me, is a fashion photographer and his mother a stylist. He started painting at the age of 9 and was in the magazine Azart at 12 years old. His first personal exhibition took place when he was 13. We met when he made a poster for a film in ASVOFF at Centre Pompidou, he was 16. Julien works in many mediums: painting, music, filmmaking, photography and designing.
The impulse for this exhibition came from the loss of his friend Fabio which he heard about in February 2018. Fabio was Italy for him in all the most beautiful ways, a joy for living, intelligent, cultured, elegant and generous. His sadness over the loss was the seed for this exhibition ‘Addiction Italienne’ which includes his icons, religion and politics.
