Y/PROJECT collaborates with multimedia artist Frederik Heyman to create its Kamasutra inspired AW19 accessory campaign

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Always in the forefront of innovation Glenn Martens, the Creative Director behind the brand Y/PROJECT, has teamed up with fellow Belgian creative, Frederik Heyman to create the first accessories campaign of Y/PROJECT. Heyman’s video artwork is inspired by the Y/PROJECT AW19  erotic Kamasutra jewelry. This season’s accessories campaign explores our desire to overcome humanity by staging digitalized characters whose movements are mechanically induced.

Frederik Heyman uses the innovative technique of photogrammetry to stage digital worlds out of relics from the past. His work mixes video, installations and photography, preferably in a digital altered environment.

Y/PROJECT accessories, including the Kamasutra jewelry, have been 3-D scanned and then incorporated in this digital installation. For Heyman, the 3D-scan is not only a means to conserve the past, but also a means to recycle the present and an attempt shape the future.

“In my work I start from 3D scans, and create digital installations in a virtual environment. All the bodies were 3D scanned at first, and were comped in together afterwards in big mechanized set ups. The Y/PROJECT accessories where also 3D scanned, and partly 3D modelled.”

Later,

Diane
