Dear Shaded Viewers,
I have been following the actions of Polimoda for years and most recently was on the jury for the graduating class. A great opportunity for the students of Polimoda is the collaboration with Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci. I think you will appreciate this video interview.
The second edition of Polimoda Duets features an exclusive interview with legend Marco Bizzarri, President and CEO of Gucci, conducted by journalist and writer Christian Rocca. Creativity comes second nature to the man behind Gucci’s mind-blowing success.“I think fashion is about emotion and trying to change the status quo. And to change the status quo, you need to take risks, and risk is not an option. I mean, you have to risk, otherwise you’re bound to fall,” explains Bizzarri. From his initial meeting with Alessandro Michele to the non-secret of a business worth 8 million euros, the luxury king reveals his secret sauce – or lack thereof – in front of the cameras, focusing on the importance of human connection in an oversaturated market of social media and technology. Polimoda Duets is a series of documentary interview videos involving some of the most outstanding cultural figures of our time. Developed by Polimoda, the project links fashion education with global icons to shed light on key issues in society today. The protagonist of this first edition is Marina Abramović, one of the most famous and controversial figures in contemporary art. #Polimoda #MarinaAbramović ========================= ‘Marina Abramović. The Cleaner’, on show from September 21st, 2018 to January 20th, 2019, gives the performance artist her first opportunity to interact with Renaissance architecture, highlighting her long-standing and enduring relationship with Italy. The exhibition features more than a hundred works of her career stemming from the 1970s to the 2000s, including videos, photographs, paintings, objects, installations and live recreations of her famed performances. As one of the most renowned figures in contemporary art, Abramović’s works have revolutionized the idea of performance, testing the limits of the body, the relationship between performer and audience and the boundaries of the mind. With over four decades of art production, she is considered a true veteran of performance art, pioneering the redefinition of the body as related to its observers.
