Dear Shaded Viewers,

Every year my personal highlight at AltaRoma is the A.I. exhibition. This edition Artisanal Intelligence set up a base camp within the Cinecitta Studios. Within that space young designers experimented with contemporary style combined with artisanal research around the image of sportswear, uniforms and outerwear. Their initiative was to bridge the gap between their own concern about their future and those who live in a virtual dimension, made of alienation and online shopping. Knowing that their goal is a happy future they merge their idea of fashion with technological know-how and research. They work like hackers, researchers, anthropologists and tailors.

Artisanal Intelligence is curated by the duo consisting of Clara Tosi Pamphili and Alessio de ‘Navasques. Clara graduated in Architecture in Rome in 1987 and is a fashion and costume historian, she designs Italian and international exhibitions, catalogs and publications. Alessio was born in Brindisi May 10, 1985 and started making events linked with the concept of recovery such as recyling and vintage. He is also an indepenent curator of exhibitions and works around fashion and design through numerous projects. He works with leading publications like Vogue.it, L’Officiel, Italy Elle and Artribune. Together Clara Tosi Pamphili and Alessio de ‘Navasques co-curate A.I. Artisanal Intelligence.
