Dear Shaded Viewers,

Alta Roma celebrated their first catwalk show featuring 16  models in all shapes and sizes and  dressed in Sadie Clayton’s designs in the home of the British ambassador, Jill Morris. The location the Villa Wolkonsky was a perfect backdrop for the collection which celebrated diversity. The event was in collaboration with the Department for International Trade Italy and the British Government’s Fashion is Great campaign. In the past Clayton has showcased her work at Artisanal Intelligence, this time she took to the catwalk. Part of the DNA of Clayton’s work is her use of copper. She likes to hammer designs into the copper and then take a blow torch to the material. I imagine that material also gives the wearer a particular form of protection, power and energy.

Later,

Diane
