Sleeping in at Le Méridien Vienna, Now with a New Look. By Glenn Belverio

Dear Shaded Viewers,

During MQ Vienna Fashion Week last month, it was a pleasure to stay at one of my favorite hotels in Europe, Le Méridien Vienna. Chic, sexy and rather unpretentious—and now with a new look, unveiled last year. Some of the rooms have been updated, such as the handsome suite I stayed in, along with a brand-new bar with a sexed-up library feel (yes, dolls, libraries are sexy), a new dining room and a less bombastic reception area which one now enters more discreetly from the side of the hotel.

Who doesn’t love a claw-foot bathtub? (My friend Nancy joked, “What is the pole for? So firemen can visit you when you’re in the bath?”)

I was over the moon for this espresso maker. I need the energy during fashion week!

YOU is the name of the new bar which includes a dining area with a marvelous lunch and dinner menu. The salmon trout was served with caviar, a toothsome potato pancake and julienne vegetables in coconut curry sauce. Divoon.

The relaxing bar was a great spot for pre-fashion show cocktails and gossip with my friend Paulo from Vogue Brasil. My favorite was the London, made with Hendrick’s Gin, lemon juice, elderberry and simple syrup.

For some reason, I couldn’t stop dreaming about coffee….

We love the new changes at Le Méridien Vienna but we’re glad the iconic silver lips by the elevator remain.

Love,
