Countdown to White Man and Woman – June 17 -19

With 300 brands on exhibit and so many special projects I thought that it would make your life easier if I gave you a bit of a guideline. Something that I think will interest you is White Essentials by Albini GROUP for the project ‘La Tradizione, Il Valore, Il Bello’ at Superstudio Più – Via Tortona 27, Milan. Translation: Tradition, Value, Beauty. The idea of this project is to shine a light on the finest Made in Italy businesses. The founder of White Milano, Massimiliano Bizzi, invited the Albini Group, based in Bergamo, to take their outstanding cotton fabrics for shirts to the White Man and Woman Trade Show.

The White Essentials exhibition is curated by Federico Poletti and takes you on a journey, the actual metamorphosis from cotton seed to flower to yarn and ultimately to fine fabrics. The spotlight of course is on all that the finest Made in Italy businesses stand for. Among the selected brands are: Fabio Quaranta, Vittorio Branchizio, ShirtStudio di Alfredo Fabrizio and A-LAB Milano joined by two Fashion Design graduate students from Milan’s Polytechnic who are new to the creative team at Albini Group. So, beautifully crafted white shirts divided into three macro theme areas: Material Connection, Mixed Pattern and Pure White at White Man and Woman. So, your eternal search for the perfect white shirt just might end here.

The Ramponi Award now has a spin off: Ramponi Award Talent Network. The contest is conceived and sponsored by Alfredo Ramponi, the CEO of Ramponi. This particular spin off was born out of the desire to allow the Award as an entrepreneurial patronage. All of the best designers have been invited to interpret their iconic items according to the Ramponi mood, thus creating a synergy between the industry and creativity. There are several steps in the process, first meetings in the company’s headquarters to organize the development of the items, then various stages in the process, all of which are documented on the social networks and culminate in the exhibition at WHITE MAN & WOMAN which will be showcased from June 17th to 19th in the Tortona Fashion District. WHITE has always supported this initiative to provide the platform that bridges creativity with the industry and thus lend more support to the fashion system.

15 brands including both womenswear and menswear, accessories and jewels will be the protagonists of the third edition of IT’S TIME TO CONTEMPORARY ARTISAN which focuses on the best hand-made collections with the collaboration of WHITE and Confartigianato Imprese, under the banner of MIAC (Moda Italiana Artigiani Contemporary).

You will find the selected brands at the WHITE ARTISAN LOUNGE in Via Tortona 27.

There you will find Alex’s hyper-flexible footwear; derby shoes by DIA, men’s flip-flops by GIAMPIERONICOLA, embroidered bags and shoes by Valentino Orlandi and many more. The goldsmiths from Arezzo are there with Nemesiand Torre del Greco with Cameo Italiano. From Rome AMBAS’s beachwear collection, Patrizia Corvaglia the author of a contemporary jewellery line and Patrizia Pozzato’s whispered elegance.
