44studio off MBMFW photos from Limbo Agency

Dear Diane, dear Shaded Viewers,

Last night I had the pleasure of attending “Fade to grey”, the latest show by the Madrid based duo 44studio whose title was inspired by Visage’s song. Full of references to the New Romantics and London’s mythic club The Blitz, this collection helps Sutdio44 detach from their previos neo-gothic and urban tribalism though we still saw some of the codes that are important for them, specially in the first half of the show. Then, the shapes got 80’s and androgynous and bold colors underlined the graphic condition of the silhouettes, making me think of Tino Casal’s current show in Madrid influx.

I’d like to make special mention to the live music, brought by Antonio Culebras, a dark and deep crooner that created the exact atmosphere for the show. Sharp and sophisticated.

P.S.- Last wednesday I went to the Neo2 magazine party and when approached Franx de Cristal -one of the designers- I’m almost sure he was using “In pursuit of magic”… I would’t be surprised as Diane Pernet Paris is available in their shop 44studio along with Hood by Air, Juun J, KTZ and Maison Margiela, amongst other designers…
