REINHARD PLANK “GLÜCK IST WO HÜTE SIND” TEXT BY GÉRALDINE POSTEL

Reinhard Plank was born in 1970 Vipiteno, South Tyrol. No wonder he got into making hats. The Robin Hood of hat making Reinhard Plank hybrids the codes of good craftmanship and contemporary and presents his Fall Winter 16 collection with a mixture of classical lines and decaying forms.

After experimenting with recycled hats and reshaping them on his personal style, he designed his signature hat: IL CLASSICO.

Working like a sculptor skillfully transforming materials into wearable forms, experimentation and reinvention are constant elements in the REINHARD PLANK world. ‘’I usually use very classical materials such as felt, wool, lapin, straw, paper, etc., but I work a lot on the nishing by experimenting with treatments on how to make a felt hat look like a unique piece. I see each of my creations like little houses.’’ says Reinhard Plank.

The REINHARD PLANK atelier allows its wearers to recall the times when people genuinely felt the hands of the craftsman in their hats.

Here is a short selection of his new collection, the arson's hats are on my top list !

“Glück ist wo Hüte sind.“ – Luck is, where hats are.
