Derzo is a collection inspired by travel and the ocean, the designer behind the brand is Sara Beltran. She is Mexican, grew up in Juarez, Chihuahua. Her mother was an artist working in porcelain and ceramic. Her father gave her the words of wisdom " independence is very costly but priceless." Beltram is fascinated by India as it reminds her of Mexico where she grew up. All of her work is handmade in India and with a community of women in Chiapas, Mexico. The result is modern designs made with old world techniques. What she likes the most is hand carving stones going from the rough cut to the final piece.
"My Mexico-India life represents my two worlds. I am proud to be Mexican, but I wouldn't be who I am without India."
