FOOTwerk, a sounding foot-wearables performance by Alexandra Murray-Leslie, in collaboration with Singapore trans-artist, pole dancer Marla Bendini (Pole

Dear Shaded Viewrs,

Excitement in Singapore with Alex Murrray-Leslie and her  computer enhanced footwear project FOOTwerk. Alex put on a performance with Singapore’s one and only trans-artist Marla Bendini. Marla performed  in Alex's  computer enhanced footwear while Alex did live sound synthesis of Marla’s foot movements during poling.

Dinu Bodicciu (who also designed outfits for Chicks on Speed and Lady Gaga), did the Kinesio-body-art. "I’ve been working on the CEF over 2.5 years as part of my PhD research into fashion acoustics, body-centric musical instrument design. The sounding shoes are made in collaboration with Max Kibardin, Dr. Sam Ferguson, (Creativity and Cognition Studios, Department of Engineering and IT, University of Technology Sydney) and Jeffrey Hong, Art, Design and Media, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore), supported by Australia Council for the Arts."

Diane
