The UK performance artist Millie Brown is now based in Los Angeles where she is having her fourth Solo Exhibition and her first performance based one in Los Angeles. It takes place at 8473 Melrose Place from April 10 23rd. Her materials consist of almond milk, food coloring, stomach and hands. My first introduction to her work years ago was when she made a film where she vomited rainbows. Her whimsical paintings have a deep underlining of raw emotion. She views the body as a vessel for spiritual practice and pushes physical and mental boundaries to reach a state of enlightenment from which her healing begins. Rainbow body is based on three wisdoms, ground, presence and energy.
In the past she has collaborated with Nick Knight, Ruth Hogben and Lady Gaga.
