A chat with the artist Cosmic Gonik and his Bastet Collection

Dear Shaded Viewers,

The artist Cosmic Gonik has just created his first jewellry collection with his sister. Cosmo is just back from Santiago, Chile where he had an exhibition of his septres, the exhibition was called SACRO. While he was there he was working on his new sculptures and the first part of the collection created with his sister. It is all about creating a skeleton of imaginary mythical creatures. You will find dragonflies, butterflies and most of all bones. Interestingly enough, the septres are made of bones and somehow Cosmo always finds bones in caves or in the countryside that have been there so long that they are pure white, most likely they were from animals that had died more than a decade ago. With this collection he took eleven bones from a cat and made different compositions. All the necklaces are articulated, like bones they move.  The first part of the collection is all silver but there will pieces in bronze and gold.

Later,

Diane
