SEOUL FASHION WEEK SS/15 – GROUNDWAVE – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Groundwave designer Kim Sun Ho may be known for his menswear line, he nevertheless decided to show his clothes on women this season, adding an interesting twist to his minimalist aesthetics. The Seoul-based designer focused on stylish separates with a relaxed and utilitarian feel, from reworked bomber jackets to sharp peacoats and baggy pants, which were often cropped. The color palette was muted and restrained, from greys and blacks to navy and white. Electric blue and red stripes added energy to several garments, giving them a slightly abstract feel. It was a fuss-free and convincing proposal from one of South Korea's most seductive designers.

Best,

Philippe
