Dear Shaded Viewers,
When I was in NYC a few months ago with ASVOFF at FIAF, my own personal Dream Team, Bliss Lau, Jules Kim and Good People's Katie Longmyer gave me the warmest NYC welcome complete with posters wheat pasted all over downtown New York. In almost florescent white paint, two anonymous artists stenciled the words "In Pursuit of Magic" over some of the posters. I cannot reveal much about them except to direct you to their site which is where their manifesto is to spread magic through the use of those three words. The artists wish to remain anonoymous and let the text speak for itself. When it came time to choose names for my four fragrances I thought about my magic dream team, how happy they made me feel what a warm welcome I received in NYC. At the opening party one of the IPM artists came up to me and handed me the stencil that she had used on the wheat pastings in Manhattan. It's been sitting on my desk with the rest of my menagerie and I thought, that name suits one of my fragrances and that is how and where the name came from.
