The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) announced Joseph Altuzarra as the winner of the 2014 CFDA Award for Womenswear Designer of the Year. The 2014 CFDA Fashion Award winners were announced at the annual gala underwritten by Swarovski at Alice Tully Hall in Lincoln Center.
The annual event recognizes the outstanding contributions made to American fashion by individuals from all areas of the industry and related arts; the Womenswear Designer of the Year award is given for design excellence in womenswear.
Joseph was the winner of the coveted 2011 CFDA/Vogue Fashion Fund and most recently, the 2012 Swarovski Award for Womenswear and is a three-time CFDA Award Nominee. This was Joseph's first nomination for the Womenswear Designer of the Year Award.
