A VISIT TO DRIES VAN NOTEN’S SHOWROOM – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

Eclectic, opulent and playful, Dries Van Noten's last collection is a personal favorite. Inspired by the dramatic style of Tamara de Lempicka and Loulou de la Falaise's carefree elegance, the Belgian designer mixed various influences with ease, putting an emphasis on luxurious fabrics and intricate finishes. His bags and shoes reminded me of the 1970s, adding a touch of glamour to the whole line. Everything felt as though it had come from someone else's wardrobe. They were clothes with a soul and a life of their own.
