Dear Shaded Viewers,

Layer by Layer is the next exhibition at Fashion space Gallery, 1st floor at London College of Fashion and will run from 10 April to 18 May. It is an exploration in digital print in fashion and the potential of 3D printing as a tool for design. On site will be works by designers from the fashion world and beyond who are already using this exciting emergent technology to generate new shapes, structures and ideas.

This technology was first used in the late 70's, last month Dita von Teese sported the world's first 3D printed dress designed by Michael Schmidt and generated by architect Francis Bitonti

A MakerBot Replicator 2 3D printer will be running in the gallery throughout the exhibition, printing objects which will then be put on display.

The exhibition showcases the award winning 'Melonia' shoe by Naim Josef and Souzan Youssouf and work by Ron Arad and Daniel Widrig among others.

The exhibition is curated by Leanne Wierzba and Gemma Williams.
