Niels Peeraer AW13 collection "Hua Dan Calyx"
" Hua Dan: a character from Beijing Opera, an always acting cute- energetic girl.
Calyx: being the supportive part of a flower, carrying the other petals.
('Hua' also means flower / blossom as the main visual inspiration for our AW13 line)
we designed 3 headpieces this season, direct translation from both Chinese as Japanese historical headdress. 'Kabuto' as a reference to the Japanese samurai head gear. 'Hua Dan Calyx' as a direct
translation from the headdress used by the Young, cute girl character in Beijing Opera.
the seasonal bags are inspired by 'calyx' / supportive part underneath the petals,
the geometry of a flower. "

"Made entirely in quilted camouflage, the collection is kept basic and minimal in line with the utilitarian focus. Quilting is performed at random and far apart to achieve what James referred to as
