Dear Shaded Viewers,
'Romantic athleticism' is the theme behind the first collection of NYC brand GLAZE. Thecollection is designed with aneyeto classic athletic and workwear with a futristic edge and in partnership with Converse. If Stanley Kubrick's 1971 futuristic film Clockwork Orange were to be shot today I think GLAZE would be perfect for their modern, futuristic and sexy uniforms.
His idea of romantic athleticism embodies a love of competition, creation, and conquering. The fabrics are crafted in durable yet natural fabrics such as leather, wool, and denim. The idea of teams separated the collection into varying shades of light and dark, with each player having his contrasting opponent. Details such as sturdy, lace up closures and exposed, metal zippers were ongoing themes. Most patterning was created based on a raglan style seaming, found on T-shirts, sweatshirts and heavy coats. Partnering with Converse was an important contribution, given their long history in American work and athletic wear. The boots and shoes were a complimentary addition to this debut collection.
