Dear Shaded Viewers,
This evening we were welcomed into the cosy space on Rue de Paradis with a warm glass of mulled wine for the launch of Ruvan Wijesooriya's new book, LCD. The photographer followed LCD Soundsystem around the world for seven years before the band called it a day in April 2011, documenting everything from festival performances to private moments in the recording studio. The relaxed, informal set up gave the exhibition a personal touch, with notes written on the walls in pencil next to photographs. Upstairs in the space, "Becoming" is a contrasting series of photographs by the same artist described as "an attentive observance and documentation of seemingly obvious moments".
The exhibition will be open until January 23rd.
