FIRST TIME IN HELSINKI – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

This is my first trip to Finland and I arrived yesterday afternoon. The city is beautiful and the mood seems relaxed. Helsinki is this year's World Design Capital and several fashion events have been organized to showcase what Finnish designers and companies have to offer. I'm staying at Hotel Fabian, which is stylish and comfortable. My room feels quite Scandinavian and luxurious.

I had some free time and went for a walk around the neighborhood to check out the sights and architecture. The weather was perfect and I was impressed with some of the buildings I saw, including the famous Senate Square.

I will soon report on a visit to Marimekko's headquarters, which I really enjoyed. Helsinki comes across as a peaceful and innovative place, where creativity and imagination are highly valued.

Best,

Philippe
