Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,
“Circuito Off” was born in Venice, cuddled by the judicious, welcoming and experienced arms of the Venice Film Biennale to grow into a young and motivated film festival, headed to Paris with a sole bright purpose in mind: to provide a new, more intimate and sensitive perspective on international cinema. And coming from such a suggestive, promising context, we couldn’t doubt that it would succeed. Tonight, it brought to the Centre Pompidou an inspired selection of works by talented Turkish director Can Evgin, whose soft-focused, poetic and lightly swaying views carried all the deep, wavy wisdom of his magical homeland. His films would either indulge in a subtle, delicate and romantic solitude within sharply shaded architectures, or vibrate with the fierce intensity of primeval, feral dusty dances.
Later,
Silvia
