PARIS S/S12 – TROSMAN’S HISTORIAS METROPLITANAS BY MARCELO HORACIO MAQUIEIRA.

Dear Shaded Viewers and Diane,

Give Argentinian designer Jessica Trosman an environmental disaster such as a polluted river in the city of Buenos Aires, or the kind homeless man nearby to influence her S/S12 silhouettes and material choices; the result? “GELATO SUCIO”, her latest collection. Evoked is a season layered of light fabrics combined with deep visual and tactlie treatments; silk coated with rubber, sometimes twice printed or washed . . . an artisan’s sensibility is always there. The garments are decorated with a combination of diverse trimmings, reflecting the metropolitan chaos we all live in. Waste aesthetics developed into unique fabrics is a hard fusion to imagine, but Trosman extracts ideas from the odd and invisible damp patches on the walls of her studio. She observes the aging process and finds interesting textures and forms applying them to her designs, its definitely beauty in progress. Available at; Kabuki Paris, Antonioli Milan, Via Bus Stop Tokyo, Harvey Nichols and Layers in London.
