"The fashion world of Jean Paul Gaultier from the sidewalk to the catwalk" is the first international exhibition produced by the Montreal Mueum of Fine Arts and devoted to the celebrated couturier.
From june 17 to october 2, visitors to the exhibition will encounter mannequins whose faces are brought to life by video. These surprising figures, all of them dressed by Gaultier, soliloquize, observe in silence and sometimes even break into song, creating a visual symphony and a fashionable odyssey.
The most iconic garrnmets as the Mariniere, the Cone Corsets and the Punk Haute Couture are displayed in a magical yet macabre mise-en-secne that captures all your senses with gaultier's epic artwork from cinema and music to fashion and design.
The world tour includes presentations at the Dallas Museum of Art, Fine Arts Museum of San Francisco, the Fundacion Mapfre – Instituto de cultura de Madris and the Kunsthal Rotterdam.
