A VISIT TO SCHIPPER/ARQUES’ STUDIO IN HASSELT – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I had the pleasure to visit Boris Schipper and Tomas Pedrosa Arques in their Hasselt studio yesterday. I expected the place to be a bit chaotic, with random chastity padlocks and bits of fabric everywhere, but everything was clean, tidy and very organized. Tomas looked perfectly at ease in this all white universe.

I can't seem to get enough of the duo's beautiful corsets and unusual prints. The designers are keen on exploring clothing as a body-altering tool, empowering the woman who wears their pieces and making her stand out. Boris' background as a dancer also raised his awareness of posture and comfort. The cuts and finishes are exquisite.

Singer and performer AnnaGrace popped in to say hi. I wasn't aware that she is one of dance music's biggest stars and she posed in front of the camera like a real pro.

I was actually profiling the boys for TribaSpace, but it didn't feel like work. We had coffee, cakes and a lovely chat. We laughed a lot, too. Tomas seemed very keen on AnnaGrace's purse.

Best,
