SEOUL FASHION WEEK S/S 11 – ISAE – TEXT BY PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI

Dear Shaded Viewers,

It was interesting to see how the idea of sustainable fashion also had an impact on Korean runways. Nature was a major theme in several collections I saw and Seoul designers seem to value it as a key source of inspiration. Using natural fibers and traditional dyeing techniques, Isae presented a convincing show, with unusual volumes and proportions that felt fresh.

Garments were soft and fluid, draping themselves over the body. A sense of ease and calm defined them. The menswear looks were strong, especially the jackets and long, baggy shirts with drawstring detail.

Best,

Philippe
