Today we had a great time visiting the artist Erina Matsui in her atelier and then spending the afternoon together. I am going to post some video interviews with her explaining her work later today.
Erina Matsui holding a toy fish that her grandmother made for her.
I asked her what her attraction to fish was and she told me that growing up she was always told that she looked like a wooper looper.Erina is a toy collector, she said it is probably because as a child she did not have very many. I love that her grandmother made this one for her.

After our atelier visit we all went to lunch across the street in a 150 year old building. Erina Matsui did a collaboration with 3M store. She is holding up one of her stickers. That is Akiko Hamaoka.
