HEATHER HUEY Interview
Interview With A Vamp, Interview Magazine March 2010

In her words:

I'm a New York native who made an unexpected leap from architecture to millinery.  Since starting my eponymous label in 2005, I've expanded my design repertoire to include not only headwear but bodywear.

I try to be consistent, but never predictable with my work. I'm a walking contradiction; I think too much; I'm a destructive-turned-constructive perfectionist; I'm a recluse…. and all of these aspects of who I am shape my work.  I like to take creative risks and yet with each risk I give myself certain parameters in order to stay focused…I think people call that "controlled chaos".

I can't explain the "why" and 'how" of what I do, so I don't question it, I just do it.  And I thank god I have something in me that allows me to create the way that I do.  There's a lot more I can say, but my voice is best heard and better articulated through the work itself.
