PHILIPPE POURHASHEMI INTERVIEWS DRIES VAN NOTEN / PORTRAIT BY STEPHAN VAN FLETEREN

Dear Shaded Viewers,

I had the pleasure to meet Dries Van Noten a few hours before his show for an interview. He was exactly how I pictured him in my head: humble and unpretentious, but at the same time decisive and determined. Like all great creative minds, Dries seems to question every aspect of life and is a dedicated learner. His critical distance -particularly towards the industry- does not prevent him from enjoying every aspect of it and wanting to know more. The one thing that strikes me the most about him is how much information he can actually process, taking it and filtering it from all kinds of sources.

Despite some of his pre-show doubts, the collection was a knock-out and the show was fantastic.
